Email Update Explained

What's this all about?

My name is Bryan. I’ve been an e-commerce owner/operator since 2015 selling on marketplaces like Amazon and Walmart, as well as the Shopify platform.

Over the last 10 years, I’ve had many successes and failures. From millions in sales to releasing products that have crashed and burned, costing hundreds of thousands in losses.

New hacks, tools, and promising apps come and go (remember the ManyChat hype?), but the fundamentals stay the same - having great products and providing great customer service.

One thing that has always worked is email marketing.

For all it’s hate, email consistently continues to be the best conversion tool in digital marketing.

If there’s just one thing any business should focus on, it’s collecting email addresses and communicating with that list.

Email gives you the best opportunity to build a direct and personal relationship with your customer, on both an individual and collective level. This knowledge of your customer gives you the power to increase sales and scale your business unlike any other tool available given its return on investment.

I think email is largely ignored in the digital marketing world because email list building can be boring and repetitive. It’s not as trendy as paid marketing, social media marketing, and influencer marketing.

Also, once you have email flows set up, you can let them run for weeks, months, or even years without touching them.

But, email marketing can also be fun. You get space to tell stories, describe or visually show your product or brand in depth, and the opportunities to cross-promote and segment are endless. Mix this creativity with the ability to analyze analytics and data, and you get a powerful marketing channel.

This email newsletter is dedicated to email marketing, as well as tangentially related retention topics such as SMS marketing.

The ultimate goal for this newsletter will be helping you increase sales via email.

It’ll be a mix of curation, analysis, deep dives, examples, and case studies, to help you get better and better results from email, which is your very best conversion tool.

Right now, the plan is to send a newsletter 1x per week on Tuesdays. It’ll be written by me and other folks with domain expertise.

Reply to the newsletter at any time to be in touch.

Thanks and talk soon!
